Sandringham Who's Who
Public Profile

Probably the most scary thing that can happen to your MAC or Windows computer is if it fails to turn on. You press the power button and nothing! No beeps, no clicks, no fan. The light on the monitor is on, but your computer is completely dead.
First of all, take a deep breath and don't panic! If there's one thing we've learned, panic doesn't help! At this stage all we know is that there is no power. Your documents, photos and music are probably safe, just not accessible at the moment. This computer problem shows that one of the hardware components have failed. Faulty Batteries, RAM sticks, hard drives, buttons, power supply, broken screen can all be causes of this issue. We'll help figure out which one it is.

Distinguished and Famous people from Sandringham
🎨 Lenton Parr
Sculptor Lenton Parr settled in Sandringham in 1959 and lived there until his death in 2003. His stainless-steel sculpture Windhover, commissioned by Bayside City Council in 2001, stands on the foreshore he knew so well. Its abstract forms evoke wind, cloud and waves, giving the coastal setting an artistic response rather than a literal illustration. Parr was born in Melbourne and took up sculpture after returning from wartime service. For someone walking beside the bay, Windhover provides a direct encounter with his work and a lasting connection between a long-term resident and the landscape outside his door.
🏉 Trevor Barker
Trevor Barker's Sandringham connection came through coaching after his celebrated playing career at St Kilda. He led Sandringham to VFA premierships in 1992 and 1994. As a player, he had been renowned for spectacular marking and versatility, appearing in 230 games for St Kilda between 1975 and 1989 and winning the club's best-and-fairest award twice. His death from cancer in 1996 cut short a promising coaching career, and the name Trevor Barker Beach Oval preserves his association with the club.
📚 Lloyd Edmonds
Lloyd Edmonds moved with his family to Sandringham in 1917, growing up in a household closely involved in socialist politics. He later became secretary of the local Labor branch before moving towards the Communist Party. Teaching, university study and service in a transport unit during the Spanish Civil War formed further chapters in a highly political life. Back in Australia he worked in industrial welfare and labour organisation. Sandringham is a documented family home and place of local political work, rather than a connection inferred from a single meeting or a street named after him.
